Watch features

SwimView is a Connect IQ device app, not a watch face. It records the swim itself. Garmin's sensors still own heart rate and native length counting. SwimView adds the workout, the goal press, and planned versus actual metres into the same activity.

• Indoor pool, outdoor pool, and open-water GPS as a native Garmin FIT swim (SPORT_SWIMMING)
• Home Menu2: Pool, Workout, Start (or Continue last swim), Display and buzz
• Pool length 10–100 m, plus common sizes: 16 / 17 / 18 / 20 / 21 / 22 / 25 / 33 / 36 / 50 m and 25 yards
• Built-in plans: Club, Threshold, Endurance, Easy, Sprint, Technique, IM
• On-watch workout slots plus Phone workout library (workouts sent from the planner)
• Ready check before you leave the wall: session type, pool, workout, heart rate, GPS
• Press after each planned goal (example: after 100 m in 4×100), not at every wall
• Undo last press, rest, skip set — physical buttons only in the water
• Pause: Keep swimming, Save, Correct, Discard, Skip this set
• Correct on the watch: add a missed press, remove the last press, change last stroke
• After Save: Garmin Connect now, Phone first (correct in Planner then the real FIT saves), or Discard
• Confirmation before discard — no accidental swipe-delete
• Optional heart rate, optional buzz on each goal, pace, /100 m or /100 y, SWOLF, rest-ratio guide
• English and Dutch follow the watch language

On the phone

Planner features

The planner is optional. You can swim with only the watch and Garmin Connect. Use the planner when you want a library, a calendar, or to correct the activity on the phone before it lands in Garmin Connect.

• Library: phone workouts vs already on the watch, next-swim selection, send and delete
• Builder: named workouts with warm-up, main set, and cooldown blocks you expand to edit
• Native selectors for reps, distance, stroke, and rest — Free, Back, Breast, Fly, IM, Kick, Drill, Mixed
• Templates: Empty, Easy, Technique, Threshold — then save, or save and send to the watch
• Calendar: schedule a workout on a day without typing dates
• Watch tab: paired Garmin via Connect IQ, what is cached on the watch, what still needs sending
• Swims: after Phone first, review planned vs completed metres, lengths, HR, calories, then Save to Garmin Connect
• Garmin Connect must already be installed — SwimView does not pair the watch itself
• Watch caches at most 20 workouts. The phone stays out of the water
• Android: sideload APK. iPhone: Xcode project until TestFlight exists

Honest limits

What SwimView does not do

• It does not detect the wall by itself. You press after each planned goal.
• It does not replace Garmin's native swim algorithm. HR and length sensors stay Garmin's.
• It does not pair the watch. Garmin Connect already does that.
• Phone first never makes a copy activity. The watch holds the FIT until you choose Connect now or commit from the planner.
