How to install SwimView on Garmin
Use Garmin Connect and the Connect IQ store. Sideloading a .prg is only for developers.
- 1Put Garmin Connect on the phone and pair the watch there first. Do not pair inside SwimView.
- 2On the phone, open the Connect IQ store (or the listing button above). Search SwimView by NielsV.
- 3Tap Install. Choose your watch if asked. Keep the phone near the watch until Garmin Connect finishes sending the app.
- 4On the watch: hold the button for the app list, or swipe to apps, and open SwimView.
- 5First launch: pick Pool or Open water, then Workout, then Start. The watch records the FIT swim.
Android phone
How to install SwimView Planner on Android
The APK is a sideload. Garmin Connect is the bridge to the watch. The planner is optional unless you want phone workouts or “phone first” after Save.
- 1Install Garmin Connect from Play Store if it is not already on the phone. Pair the watch in Garmin Connect.
- 2Uninstall any older SwimView Planner first. Debug and release builds use different signatures, so an old copy blocks the new APK.
- 3On this page, tap SwimView Planner APK. Save the file (Chrome Downloads or Files).
- 4Open the APK. Android asks to allow installs from Chrome or Files — turn that on once, then Install.
- 5Play Protect may warn because this is not on the Play Store. Choose Install anyway / More details → Install. A signed release APK is not a debug package.
- 6Open SwimView Planner. Garmin Connect must stay installed. Use the planner to build workouts and send them to the watch library. You do not need the phone in the water.
iPhone
How to install on iPhone
- 1You need a Mac, a USB cable, the iPhone unlocked, Garmin Connect already on the iPhone, and Xcode from the Mac App Store. A free Apple ID is enough.
- 2Download the zip (button below). On the Mac, double-click to unzip. Open SwimViewPlanner.xcodeproj — keep the whole folder together.
- 3Plug the iPhone into the Mac. On the iPhone tap Trust This Computer and enter the passcode.
- 4In Xcode, at the top, choose your iPhone by name (not a Simulator). Signing & Capabilities → Team → your Apple ID.
- 5Press the Play button (Run). Keep the cable in and the iPhone unlocked. If the app will not open: Settings → General → VPN & Device Management → Trust your Apple ID.
- 6The app lasts about 7 days with a free Apple ID. Plug in again and press Run. You do not download the zip again. Full picture: voortly.com/install/ios
